Planina Cave, formerly also Little Castle Cave after Little Castle in the vicinity of its entrance, is one of the longest Slovenian active caves. It is a huge tunnel and the subterranean bed of the Unica River. Planina Cave is situated 330 metres southwest of Mali grad, Planina.

The Postojna Gate, less often the Postojna Gap, named after the local town of Postojna, is a major mountain pass of the Dinaric Alps. It lies in southwestern Slovenia, between the Hrušica Plateau to the north and the Javornik Hills to the south, at an elevation of 610 metres. Postojna Gate is situated 3½ km south of Mali grad, Planina.
