Riem Arcaden

The Riem Arcaden is the largest shopping mall in Munich. It was built in the Messestadt Riem district at Willy-Brandt-Platz and designed by the Allmann Sattler Wappner firm and opened on 10 March 2004.

Munich-Riem Airport was the international airport of Munich, the capital city of Bavaria and third-largest city of Germany. It was closed down on 16 May 1992, the day before the new Munich Airport commenced operations. Munich-Riem Airport is situated 550 metres north of Willy-Brandt-Platz.

Messestadt Riem is an urban district in the east of Munich. It is part of the municipality 15 Trudering-Riem, and located entirely on the grounds of Munich-Riem airport, which closed in 1992 and now comprises a residential area, the Neue Messe München trade fair centre and the Riem Arcaden shopping mall.
