Indiana Dunes National Park

Indiana Dunes National Park, in the northwestern part of the state, is the only national park in Indiana. It's popular for its big sand dunes and plentiful beaches on Lake Michigan, and for its easily accessible location near Chicago.

Dune Park is a station in Westchester Township, Porter County, Indiana, located north of the municipalities of Chesterton and Porter. It is used by South Shore Line trains, and serves as the headquarters of the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District, the umbrella agency that operates the South Shore Line. Dune Park station is situated 1¼ miles southeast of East Beach.

Cowles Bog

Cowles Bog is a 4,000-year-old wetland complex in Indiana Dunes National Park, near Chesterton, Indiana. It is named for Henry Chandler Cowles who did his pioneering work in ecology and ecological succession here.
