The Manti Utah Temple is the fifth temple built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Construction of the temple was completed in 1888. Located in the city of Manti, Utah, it was the third built west of the Mississippi River, following the Utah temples in St. George and Logan. Manti Utah Temple is situated 2,400 feet northeast of Manti Country Motel Parking.

Sterling is in Central Utah. Surveyed by James Snow in 1881 after securing rights to former Indian reservation land from the government. Most of the Pettyville settlers moved to this higher bench above Six Mile Creek, six miles south of Manti, and the main road was eventually rerouted to service them.
