Old Victoria Custom House

The Old Victoria Custom House, also known as the Malahat Building, in Victoria was completed in 1875 and designated as a historic building in 1987. It is a three-storey, mansard-roofed, custom house overlooking Victoria's harbour, symbolizing the era when Victoria was the pre-eminent commercial centre on Canada's West Coast. Old Victoria Custom House is situated 110 metres northeast of Victoria Harbour Airport.

Fort Victoria began as a fur trading post of the Hudson's Bay Company and was the headquarters of HBC operations in the Columbia District, a large fur trading area now part of the province of British Columbia, Canada and the U.S. state of Washington.
