Silves Cathedral

The Silves Cathedral is a former cathedral in the city of Silves, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. A mosque, built during the Moorish rule of the Iberian Peninsula, was originally located in its current place, and was later mostly restructured and converted into a Catholic cathedral after the Reconquista. Silves Cathedral is situated 3 km east of ETAR de Silves.

Silves is a railway station on the Algarve line which serves Silves, Portugal. It opened on 1 February 1902. The station is now without staff. As of May 2024, electrification of the Tunes to Portimão section of the railway is under way, with completion expected by the end of 2024. Silves railway station is situated 3 km southeast of ETAR de Silves.

Parchal is a town and a former civil parish in the municipality of Lagoa, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Estômbar e Parchal. The population in 2011 was 4,019, in an area of 3.86 km2. Parchal is situated 7 km southwest of ETAR de Silves.

Portimão is the second biggest city in the Algarve, Portugal, and famous for its fresh fish restaurants, grilled sardines being the most famous dish. It's very close to one of the most well known beaches in the Algarve, Praia da Rocha, and there are numerous others nearby.
