John F. Kennedy High School is one of two public high schools located in Bloomington, Minnesota, United States. Named after former president John F. Kennedy, it was opened in 1965 due to the rapid growth of Bloomington at the time. Bloomington Kennedy High School is situated 980 feet south of Maplewood Park.

The museum was conceived by Rebecca Schatz, a software engineer who was inspired by a visit to the Exploratorium in San Francisco, and by the hands-on technical education for children that she observed during a year as a Luce Scholar in Japan in 1984.
