It has a surface area of approximately 11.5 hectares, and is positioned opposite Meudon, a short distance downstream from the Île Saint-Germain. Île Seguin is situated 240 metres east of Passerelle Sud.

The Château de Bellevue was a small château built for Madame de Pompadour in 1750. It was constructed on a broad plateau in Meudon, above a slope overlooking the Seine to the east, but was demolished in 1823 and little remains. Château de Bellevue is situated 300 metres southwest of Passerelle Sud.
