Ciudad Sandino is a city and municipality in the Managua department of Nicaragua. Located just outside western Managua, it had an estimated population of 109,644 in mid-2015.

La Chureca was the municipal domestic and industrial waste-disposal site in Managua, Nicaragua. It was the largest open-air landfill in Central America, covering 7 km2 in the north-western corner of Managua. La Chureca is situated 6 km east of Bloque QS.
