Hohenschwangau Castle is a 19th-century palace in southern Germany. It was built by King Maximilian II of Bavaria, and was the childhood residence of his son, King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Hohenschwangau Castle is situated 370 metres west of Unter’m Schloss.

Hohenschwangau is a former village and now an urban district of the municipality of Schwangau, in the Ostallgäu district of Bavaria, Germany. It is located between Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau, and is visited by about two million people annually, where they start tours to the former royal palaces.
