The Presidential Palace of Suriname is the presidential palace of Suriname in the capital of Paramaribo. It is located across from The Independence Square, which also houses the National Assembly of Suriname, the Congress building, the Court of Justice, and the Ministry of Finance. Presidential Palace of Suriname is situated 140 metres north of Vlaggenplein.

Fort Zeelandia is a fortress in Paramaribo, Suriname. In 1640 the French built a wooden fort on the spot which, during British colonial period, was reinforced and became Fort Willoughby. It was taken by the Dutch in 1667 and renamed Fort Zeelandia. Fort Zeelandia is situated 200 metres east of Vlaggenplein.
