  • Inscription: “滍阳古镇自张八桥浅山区发源的应河水经应山环绕古镇而入淄水，镇南白沙铺地，直至滍水；自西周起，为中原重镇，隋唐设滍阳县，宋至清代为联通宛洛的交通要道和物资集散地；城内商贾云集，有“人车辐辏，日进斗金”之盛。古镇南北宽1.5公里，东西长1.5公里，周长9里13步；城内有纵横8条大街，两万余口人；共有五道门，东门以迎许昌方向客商而叫“迎旭”、东南以望古楚国而叫“望楚”、南门临滍水叫“临滍”、西门因应水绕城而走叫“带应”、北门可通宝丰、洛阳而叫“通宝”。1958年修白龟山水库后，滍阳故城沦为库区，化作平湖千顷。”
