Kirby Muxloe Castle

Kirby Muxloe Castle, also known historically as Kirby Castle, is a ruined, fortified manor house in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire, England. William, Lord Hastings, began work on the castle in 1480, founding it on the site of a pre-existing manor house. Kirby Muxloe Castle is situated 1½ miles north of New Lubbesthorpe.

Kirby Frith Nature Reserve

Kirby Frith is a 2.1-hectare Local Nature Reserve on the western outskirts of Leicester. It is owned and managed by Leicester City Council. This site is described by Natural England as the richest wildflower grassland in the county, with species such as devil's-bit scabious, betony and yellow rattle. Kirby Frith Nature Reserve is situated 2 miles northeast of New Lubbesthorpe.
