The Joseph Cross is a steel framework construction with a height of 38 m and a weight of 125 t, which was built between 20 April 1896 and 9 August 1896. Joseph Cross is situated 2½ km northwest of St. Cyriaci und Nicolai.

It is a so-called double peak with summits that are 580.4 metres high and 580.3 metres high, which are about 470 metres apart. Großer Auerberg is situated 3 km north of St. Cyriaci und Nicolai.
