Mendota station is an Amtrak intercity train station at 783 Main Street, Mendota, Illinois, United States. The station was originally built on February 23, 1888, by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, as a replacement for the former Union Depot that was built in 1853 and burned down in 1885. Mendota station is situated 1 mile southeast of Mendota Lake.

Though Clarion is usually perceived as the area where the grain elevator and Lutheran church are located along U.S. Route 34, that is technically known as the unincorporated area of Wendel. Clarion is situated 4½ miles southwest of Mendota Lake.
