Fort Steuben was a fortification erected in Feb. 1787 on the Ohio River in eastern Ohio Country at the northern end of the Seven Ranges land tract to be surveyed.

It was constructed in 1871 through 1874 by Heard & Blythe architectural firm. Jefferson County Courthouse is situated 580 feet north of Fort Steuben Park.
