The National Stadium, a.k.a. the Bird's Nest, is a stadium at Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. The National Stadium, covering an area of 204,000 square meters with an 80,000 person capacity, broke ground in December 2003, officially started construction in March 2004, and was completed in June 2008. Bird’s Nest is situated 1½ km north of Chinatown.

The Water Cube, fully a.k.a. the National Aquatics Centre, is a swimming center at the Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, China. The Water Cube was originally constructed to host the aquatics competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Water Cube is situated 1¼ km north of Chinatown.
