St. Joseph's Minor Basilica Church is a Roman Catholic Church building in Elmina, in the Central Region of Ghana. Established in 1880, it was the first Roman Catholic church to have been established in Ghana. Saint Joseph’s basilica is situated 2 km east of Entrance.

The Nduom Sports Stadium is a stadium in Elmina. It is the home venue of Elmina Sharks F.C., a Ghanaian Premier League side owned by Dr Nduom's Groupe Nduom conglomerate. Nduom Sports Stadium is situated 2 km northwest of Entrance.

The Dutch Cemetery of Elmina was constructed on the order of Governor of the Dutch Gold Coast Johannes Petrus Hoogenboom in 1806. Up until that date, the Dutch had buried their dead inside or just outside Elmina Castle, but by the beginning of the 19th century, little space was left there, so it was decided to construct a new cemetery in what was known as "the Garden" of Elmina. Dutch Cemetery is situated 2 km east of Entrance.

Elmina is a city in Coastal Plain region of Ghana. Its name comes from the Portuguese word for "Mine". The gold found in these mines are also the origin of the name "Gold Coast", which was the name of what is now Ghana, when it was a British Colony.
