Aachen Cathedral is a Catholic church in Aachen, Germany and the cathedral of the Diocese of Aachen. One of the oldest cathedral buildings in Europe, it was constructed as the royal chapel of the Palace of Aachen of Emperor Charlemagne, who was buried there in 814. Aachen Cathedral is situated 120 metres southwest of Haus Monheim.

The Couven Museum is a museum in the city centre of Aachen, western Germany. Since 1958, it is housed in the Monheim house, a 17th-century pharmacy, that was redesigned by the architect Jakob Couven in 1786.
