Hope, previously known as Ranzau, is a small settlement in the Tasman District of New Zealand. It lies south of Nelson city, between Richmond and Wakefield.

Appleby is a locality in the Tasman district in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located around the Waimea River near the Tasman Bay / Te Tai-o-Aorere.

Nelson is the second oldest settled city in New Zealand and the oldest in the South Island. It is in a region often known as Nelson Bays or the "Top of the South" and is actually slightly north of the capital city of Wellington in the North Island. Richmond is situated 3½ km east of Ranzau School.
