The Teatro Arriaga, or Arriaga Antzokia in Basque, is an opera house located on the Nervión River in Bilbao, Spain. It was built in Neo-Baroque style by architect Joaquín Rucoba in 1890, the same architect that built the city hall. Teatro Arriaga is situated 2 km southwest of Mendigana.

Mount Artxanda is one of the two small mountain ranges that delimit the municipality of Bilbao, the other one being Pagasarri. Of the two, it is the lower one, the closer one to the center of the city, and the one that has suffered from more intense urbanization. Mount Artxanda is situated 1 km northwest of Mendigana.

The Basilica of Begoña is a basilica in Bilbao, in Spain, dedicated to the patroness saint of Biscay, the image of Our Lady of Begoña. The current parish priest is Jesús Francisco de Garitaonandia. Basilica of Begoña is situated 1½ km south of Mendigana.

Begoña is a historical municipality of Biscay and is a neighbourhood and urban district of Bilbao. Begoña, or more puristically but also more rarely spelled Begoina, means 'the lower foot', referring to the slopes of Mount Artxanda which lie to the north of the city.
