Bamberg station is the only passenger station in the city of Bamberg in Upper Franconia in the German state of Bavaria. It is a major hub station for local trains operated by Deutsche Bahn and Agilis and is also a regularly served by Intercity-Express and Intercity trains. Bamberg station is situated 470 metres east of Bamberger Sortengarten.

The Bamberg State Library is a combined universal, regional and research library with priority given to the humanities. Today it is housed in the New Residence, the former prince-bishop's new palace. The Free State of Bavaria is responsible for the library. Bamberg State Library is situated 1¼ km southwest of Bamberger Sortengarten.

Gaustadt is a district of Bamberg, Upper Franconia in Germany. Gaustadt has a population of about 6,500. Until 1972 it was a small independent town, but in that year it became part of the City of Bamberg through a referendum. Gaustadt is situated 2½ km west of Bamberger Sortengarten.
