Mystras is a fortress town and archaeological site in Laconia, Peloponnese, Greece, known for its ruins from the Byzantine era. During its heyday as a medieval city, it was the capital of the Despotate of Morea, a rump state that was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in the mid-15th century shortly after the fall of Constantinople.

The Pantanassa Monastery is a former Eastern Orthodox monastery, now nunnery, located in Mystras, in the Peloponnese region of Greece. It was founded by a chief minister of the late-Byzantine Despotate of the Morea, Giannis Frankopoulos, and was dedicated in September 1428. Pantanassa Monastery is situated 260 metres east of Saint Sophia.
