Hohenschwangau Castle is a 19th-century palace in southern Germany. It was built by King Maximilian II of Bavaria, and was the childhood residence of his son, King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century historicist palace on a rugged hill of the foothills of the Alps in the very south of Germany, near the border with Austria. Neuschwanstein Castle is situated 1 km east of Lion fountain.

Hohenschwangau is a former village and now an urban district of the municipality of Schwangau, in the Ostallgäu district of Bavaria, Germany. It is located between Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau, and is visited by about two million people annually, where they start tours to the former royal palaces.
