The Juilliard School is a private conservatory for performing arts in New York City, New York, United States. Founded by Frank Damrosch as the Institute of Musical Art in 1905, the school later added dance and drama programs and became the Juilliard School, named after its principal benefactor Augustus D. The Juilliard School is situated 1,300 feet south of Sherman Square.
