The Panguna mine is a large copper mine located in , , formerly operated by Bougainville Copper Ltd. Panguna represents one of the largest copper reserves in and in the world, having an estimated remaining reserve of 5.3 billion tonnes of ore copper and almost 20 million ounces of gold.
