Kostenets is a village in the Sofia Province southwestern Bulgaria, located in the Kostenets Municipality. As of the 2024 census, the village had a total population of 3,138. It ranks 18th by population of all Bulgarian villages. Kostenets is situated 3½ km north of Gurgulitsa Hut.

Kostenets is a town in Sofia Province in western Bulgaria, and the administrative centre of the Kostenets Municipality. The town is situated in the Kostenets–Dolna Banya Valley at the foot of the mountain ranges of Rila and Sredna Gora, about 70 km southeast of capital Sofia. Kostenets is situated 9 km north of Gurgulitsa Hut.

Dolna Banya, also Dolna Banja or Dolna Bania is a town located in Sofia Province in southwestern Bulgaria. 75 km from Sofia and Plovdiv, Dolna Banya is located in the Kostenets–Dolna Banya Valley by the north-eastern slopes of the Rila Mountains, 18 and 30 km respectively from the ski resorts of Borovets and Samokov. Dolna Banya is situated 10 km northwest of Gurgulitsa Hut.
