is the central district of Warsaw, the capital of . It hosts the most tourist attractions, cultural institutions, and restaurants, and is the hub of the city's nightlife.

The Old Town and New Town are the two oldest parts of Warsaw. Administratively, they are neighbourhoods in the district of . The Old Town is comparatively small to the old towns of many other European cities, as during the time of its development Warsaw was a small town of mostly local importance and not yet the capital of Poland.

The districts of Warsaw south of have enjoyed a measurable growth in population numbers and importance in recent decades thanks to their proximity to the airport and the fact that the stretch of the Metro line first completed was one connecting Ursynów and Mokotów with Śródmieście.

The western part of Warsaw consists of the districts of Bemowo, Ursus and Włochy. It is primarily residential with varying degrees of density. Apart from the Warsaw Chopin Airport in Włochy and the general aviation airport in Bemowo, there is not much of regular touristic interest in this part of Warsaw.

Northern Warsaw comprises three predominantly residential districts, with some industry and commerce in the form of shopping centres. Białołęka is a rather new districts with only a little number of monument and nearly no tourist attractions, as it is described as "the bedroom of Warsaw".
