Melchor de Mencos is in Guatemala on the border with Belize and is usually a place that most travelers merely pass through, but it does have some stelae and zoomorphs in a square not far away.

Benque Viejo del Carmen is the westernmost town in Belize, 130 km by road west and south of Belize City, at the Guatemalan border. San Ignacio lies 13 km to the east and Melchor de Mencos just across the border.

Calla Creek is a village in the Cayo District of central interior Belize. It is situated along the Mopan River near the border with Guatemala. The village is in an agricultural region with the most frequent crops being citrus and banana. Calla Creek is situated 2½ miles north of Xunantunich.
