Set in the middle of the Rocky Mountains, this college town is a place for experiencing the great outdoors around the year, and for those days the weather makes you want to stay indoors there are a number of museums and galleries to explore.

Livingston is a city in the Yellowstone Country of Montana. It is the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Livingston is commonly called "The Gateway City" because it was the original entrance to Yellowstone.

Red Lodge is a town in south central Montana. About 2,200 people live there. It is located in the shadow of no less than 28 different 12,000-foot peaks.
Big Timber

Big Timber is in south central Montana. About 1,600 people live there. Surrounded on three sides by the Absaroka-Beartooths and the Crazy Mountains, the area's fantastic scenery provided a backdrop for movies such as A River Runs Through It and The Horse Whisperer.
Three Forks

Three Forks is a town in Montana along the Lewis and Clark Trail. About 2,000 people live there. It is where the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers converge, forming the start of the Missouri River.
West Yellowstone

West Yellowstone, Montana, is a rustic mountain town nestled between National Forest lands and is the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. It is only a mile from the park entrance, and the town's airport is the closest to the park, and to attractions like Old Faithful.
Gardiner

Gardiner is a small town located near the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is the only entrance to Yellowstone Park accessible by car year round and has served as a home base for thousands of tourists visiting the area.
Big Sky

Big Sky is an alpine ski and golf resort community in Montana. The community's two large ski resorts, Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin, merged in 2013. In 2020, it was home to about 3,600 people.
Cooke City

Cooke City-Silver Gate is in Park County, Montana, at the north east entrance to Yellowstone National Park, and is a convenient stop when visiting the area. In 2020, 77 people lived there.
