Portland Castle ist eine Festung, die Heinrich VIII. 1539 auf der Isle of Portland erbauen ließ. Nach der englischen Reformation sah sich Heinrich VIII. vom katholischen Teil Europas bedroht und baute eine Reihe von Festungen zum Schutz des Landes.
