Sanctuary of the paphian Aphrodite

The Sanctuary of Aphrodite Paphia was a sanctuary in ancient Paphos on Cyprus dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite. Located where the legendary birth of Aphrodite took place, it has been referred to as the main sanctuary of Aphrodite, and was a place of pilgrimages in the ancient world for centuries. Sanctuary of the paphian Aphrodite is situated 3½ km southwest of Kato Papeti.

Souskiou is an abandoned village in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located 4 km north of Kouklia. The village was formerly mixed, but by the 1960s had become entirely Turkish Cypriot.

Kouklia is a village in the Paphos District, about 16 kilometres east from the city of Paphos on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The village is built over the site of the ancient city of Palaepaphos, mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love and beauty, which became the centre for her worship in the ancient world. Kouklia is situated 3½ km southwest of Kato Papeti.
