Middle East

The Middle East is a region in Western Asia, between the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean. The term "Middle East" was created by the British in the 19th century, and there is no coherent definition; it is a political term as much as geographical, but also Eurocentric, implying that it separates "the West" from the Far East.
