Sirwan is a town and the center of Sirwan District in of Halabja Governorate, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is located approximately 8 km northwest of Halabja city, at an elevation of 1,700 feet above sea level, and named after the Sirwan River. Sirwan is situated 2½ km northeast of Zenkel.

Halabja is a city in Iraqi Kurdistan and the capital of Halabja Governorate. It is about 718 km northeast of Baghdad and 14 km from the Iranian border and it was established in 2014, splitting off from Sulaymaniyah Governorate and becoming the fourth governorate in Northern Iraq.
