Chingyan is a small Kurdish village located in Sharbazher District, within the Sulaymaniyah Governorate of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Situated at an elevation of around 1,250 m above sea level, it lies just a short distance from Sulaymaniyah city… Chngian is situated 8 km northeast of Walana.

Sulemania was founded in 1784 by Ibrahim Pasha Baban, a Kurdish prince, to be the capital of his principality. Since then it has been Iraqi Kurdistan’s cultural capital and home to philosophers, poets and writers.
