Ankawa is a suburb of in , Iraq. It is located 8 kilometres northwest of downtown Erbil. The suburb is predominantly populated by Christian Assyrians, most of whom adhere to the Chaldean Catholic Church.

The Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Ankawa, also known as Cathedral of Mar Yousif, is the Chaldean Catholic cathedral and seat of the Chaldean Catholic Archdiocese of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan created under the pontificate of Pope Paul VI.

The is a Sunni in , in the of . It is the largest mosque in Erbil. The mosque was begun by Jalil Khayat, who later died in 2005, and it was completed in 2007 by his sons in memory of their father. is situated 3½ km southeast of Ankawa.
