Abila, distinguished as Abila in the Decapolis, and also known for a time as Seleucia, and Abila Viniferos, was a city in the Decapolis; the site, now referred to as Qweilbeh, occupies two tells, Tell al-Abila and Khirbet Tell Umm al-Amad. Abila is situated 3½ km north of Al Mushayrifah.

Irbid Camp is one of the 10 officially recognized UNRWA Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan. It is located outside of Irbid. It was one of the four camps founded in Jordan to accommodate the refugees of the 1948 Palestinian expulsion and flight, the others being Jabal el-Hussein camp, Al-Wehdat refugee camp and Zarqa Camp. Irbid camp is situated 10 km south of Al Mushayrifah.
