Malka is a Jordanian town located in the north of Irbid on the border with Syria. It is one of the largest villages in Bani Kinanah Department. It has fertile soil and abundant springs. Malka is situated 6 km north of Wādī Khallat ‘Arabah.

Umm Qais, also known as Qays, is a town in northern Jordan principally known for its proximity to the ruins of the ancient Gadara. It is the largest city in the Bani Kinanah Department and Irbid Governorate in the extreme northwest of the country, near Jordan's borders with Israel and Syria.

It was one of the four camps founded in Jordan to accommodate the refugees of the 1948 Palestinian expulsion and flight, the others being Jabal el-Hussein camp, Al-Wehdat refugee camp and Zarqa Camp. Irbid camp is situated 10 km southeast of Wādī Khallat ‘Arabah.
