Gehenna

Gehenna or Gehinnom is a Biblical toponym that has acquired various theological connotations, including as a place of divine punishment, in Jewish eschatology. Gehenna is situated 3½ km northwest of Umm Laysūn.

Pool of Siloam

The term Pool of Siloam refers to several rock-cut pools located southeast of the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. The pools were fed by the waters of the Gihon Spring, carried there by the Siloam tunnel. Pool of Siloam is situated 3½ km north of Umm Laysūn.

Gichon Spring

Gihon Spring or Fountain of the Virgin, also known as Saint Mary's Pool, is a spring in the Kidron Valley. It was the main source of water for the Pool of Siloam in Jebus and the later City of David, the original site of Jerusalem. Gichon Spring is situated 3½ km north of Umm Laysūn.

Sur Baher, also Tsur Baher, is a Palestinian neighborhood on the southeastern outskirts of East Jerusalem. It is located east of Ramat Rachel and northeast of Har Homa. In 2006, Sur Baher had a population of 15,000.

Jabel Mukaber is a predominantly Palestinian neighborhood in southern East Jerusalem. It is bordered by East Talpiot to the west, Abu Tor and Silwan to the north and Sur Baher to the south. Jabel Mukaber has a population of approximately 30,000.
