Gehenna or Gehinnom is a Biblical toponym that has acquired various theological connotations, including as a place of divine punishment, in Jewish eschatology. Gehenna is situated 3½ km northwest of Umm Laysūn.

Gichon Spring

Gihon Spring or Fountain of the Virgin, also known as Saint Mary's Pool, is a spring in the Kidron Valley. It was the main source of water for the Pool of Siloam in Jebus and the later City of David, the original site of Jerusalem. Gichon Spring is situated 3½ km north of Umm Laysūn.

Zion Gate, also known in Arabic as Bab Sahyun or Bab Harat al-Yahud, is one of the seven historic Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. Zion Gate is situated 4 km north of Umm Laysūn.

Sur Baher, also Tsur Baher, is a Palestinian neighborhood on the southeastern outskirts of East Jerusalem. It is located east of Ramat Rachel and northeast of Har Homa. In 2006, Sur Baher had a population of 15,000.
