Deir Hajla

Deir Hajla or Qasr Hajla is the Arabic name of the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Saint Gerasimus, a monastery located in the Jericho Governorate of the State of Palestine, in the West Bank, west of the River Jordan and north of the Dead Sea. Deir Hajla is situated 3½ km northeast of ‘Ayn Abū Maḩmūd.

Kalya is an Israeli settlement organized as a kibbutz in the West Bank. It was originally established in 1929 but was occupied and destroyed by the Jordanians in 1948; it was later rebuilt in 1968 after the Six-Day War. Kalya is situated 5 km south of ‘Ayn Abū Maḩmūd.
