Tiran Island
Tiran Island, is a Saudi island in the Red Sea located in the Strait of Tiran. The island's administration was transferred by King Abdulaziz Al Saud to Egypt in 1950 due to concerns of Israeli expansion while Saudi Arabia lacked a navy to protect the island.- Type: Island

The Straits of Tiran are the narrow sea passages between the Sinai and Arabian peninsulas that connect the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea. The distance between the two peninsulas is about 13 km. Straits of Tiran is situated 9 km northwest of Tiran Island.
