Village
Shabas ash-Shuhada is a city in Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate of Egypt. In Ptolemaic and Byzantine Egypt it was known as Kabasa or Gabasson and was a center of the Kabassite nome, which after the Muslim conquest of Egypt was transformed into a kurah. Shabas al Shuhada is situated 7 km northeast of Shubra Khit.

It was the provincial capital of Sap-Meh, the fifth nome of Lower Egypt and became the seat of power during the Twenty-fourth Dynasty of Egypt and the Saite Twenty-sixth Dynasty of Egypt during the Late Period. Sais is situated 9 km southeast of Shubra Khit.
