Al Jalali Fort
Al Jalali Fort, or Ash Sharqiya Fort, is a fort in the harbor of Old Muscat, Oman. The fort was built by the Portuguese under Philip I of Portugal in the 1580s on an earlier Omani fortress to protect the harbor after Muscat had twice been sacked by Ottoman forces.Photo: Andries Oudshoorn, CC BY-SA 2.0.

Fort Al-Mirani is a fort located in the harbor of the city of Old Muscat, Oman. The fort existed prior to the Portuguese invasion and was later rebuilt by the Portuguese in 1587. The fort became the first to use cannons in Oman. Al Mirani Fort is situated 460 metres west of Al Jalali Fort.

The National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman is located in Old Muscat, Oman. It was developed as a result of a ten-year collaboration between the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, the Royal Estate Affairs of Oman, Jasper Jacob Associates, and Arts Architecture International Ltd, and opened to the public in 2016. National Museum is situated 700 metres southwest of Al Jalali Fort.
