The Cisterns of Tawila, or the Tawila Tanks, is a historic site in Aden, Yemen designed to collect and store the rain that flows down from the Shamsan massif through Wadi Tawila, and to protect the city from periodic flooding.

Sira Fortress/Castle is a military site in Aden, Yemen. The original fortress dates to the 11th century, and is still in use today by the Yemeni military. Sira Castle is situated 3 km east of Tawela Gorge.

The Gold Mohur Hotel is a resort hotel on Aden, Yemen. On 29 December 1992, Al Qaeda conducted its first known terrorist attack in Aden, bombing the Gold Mohur Hotel, where U.S. servicemen were known to have been staying en route to Somalia for Operation Restore Hope. Gold Mohur Hotel is situated 3½ km west of Tawela Gorge.

Crater, also Kraytar, is a district of the Aden Governorate, Yemen. Its official name is Seera. It is situated in a crater of an ancient volcano which forms the Shamsan Mountains. As of 2003, the district had a population of 76,723 people.
