Väimela is a small borough in Võru Parish, Võru County in southeastern Estonia. Väimela is situated 5 km from Võru it is also, first mentioned in historical materials in the year 1403. Võru County Vocational Training Centre is situated in Väimela. Väimela is situated 6 km west of Kääpa.

Võru is a city in Southern Estonia. Despite the picturesque location on the shore of the lake, Võru does not inhibit much of a medieval history. The central landmark is the cosy house-museum of Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald, the collector of the Estonian epic poetry and one of the founders of Estonian literature.
