It is considered to be one of the main tourist attractions from the Piatra Mare massif. The Seven Ladders Canyon is situated 3 km south of Timișu de Jos.

This village-like section of the town is mostly made up of small houses built along narrow roads with gardens and small fields on the slopes of the Tâmpa Mountain. Șcheii Brașovului is situated 6 km northwest of Timișu de Jos.
