Gölcük Naval Base is the main base of the Turkish Navy on the east coast of the Sea of Marmara in Gölcük, Kocaeli. It is the principal base for logistic support with various facilities stretched over 1,800 acres of land. Gölcük Naval Base is situated 4 km south of Derince.
Körfez Circuit
İzmit Körfez Circuit is a motor sports race track about 17 km west of İzmit, in Körfez district of Kocaeli Province, Turkey. Sponsored by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation and built by the Istanbul Motorsports Club, it was inaugurated in 1993 as the first asphalted race track in Turkey.
