Șimian
Islet
Șimian is a river island on the Danube belonging to Romania, located just downstream of the city of Turnu Severin and overlooking the town of Șimian. The island is home to a reconstructed fortress that was relocated from the historic Ada Kaleh island, when it was threatened by the construction of the Iron Gate I dam in 1968.
Trajan’s Bridge Pillar

Trajan's Bridge, also called Bridge of Apollodorus over the Danube, was a Roman segmental arch bridge, on the modern Serbian - Romanian border, the first bridge to be built over the lower Danube and considered one of the greatest achievements in Roman architecture. Trajan’s Bridge Pillar is situated 3 km northwest of Mala Vrbica.
