Darial Gorge

The Darial Gorge is a river gorge on the border between Russia and Georgia. It is at the east base of Mount Kazbek, south of present-day Vladikavkaz. The gorge was carved by the river Terek, and is approximately 13 kilometres long. Darial Gorge is situated 2½ km north of Tibaistskali.

Dariali Hydropower Plant, referred to as Dariali HPP, is a 108 MW run-of-the-river hydropower plant built in 2017 in Georgia. It is located on the Tergi River in Kazbegi Municipality, at less than 1 km from the Russian-Georgian border, 160 km far from Tbilisi.

Gveleti is a village in the Kazbegi Municipality of Georgia. It is located in the Darial Gorge, on the right bank of the Devdaraki, 4 km from the border with Russia. Gelatĕ was founded by the Ingush clan Gelatkhoy.

Stepantsminda is a town in the north of Georgia, popular for the trekking opportunities in the visually spectacular surrounding mountains, its views of the mighty Mount Kazbeg, and for the beautiful view from the town of the Holy Trinity Church outlined against Mount Kazbeg itself.
