The Rivière du Rempart is a river in northeast Mauritius. It is the outflow of La Nicolière, a lake in the central north of Mauritius. It then flows northeast to reach the Indian Ocean north of Poste de Flacq.- Type: Stream

La Preneuse is a public beach in western coast of the island Mauritius in the district of Rivière Noire located in the village of Black River. It was named after a French ship, the frigate Preneuse, which served as a commerce raider at Isle de France and was also involved in a naval battle with the British in the 18th century. La Preneuse is situated 4 km south of Rivière du Rempart.

Flic-en-Flac is a seaside village on the west coast of Mauritius in the district of Black River. The name most likely comes from an Old Dutch phrase, "Fried Landt Flaak", meaning free, flat land.
